4 ‘Ostomy Athletes’ to climb the Seven Summits around the world A group of four people from Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. who each have Crohn’s Disease and Ileostomy are setting their sights on a lofty goal, climbing the tallest mountains on each of the seven continents and pursing the Explorer’s Grand Slam.The group, which calls themselves the Ostomy Athletes, hope to begin their epic adventure in September this year and it’s expected to take until Dec. 2026 to complete.The seven summits including Everest, Kilimanjaro and Denali while the Explorer’s Grand Slam will consists of skiing to the North and South Pole.Patrick Belton, a Toronto native, put together the team and will be joined by the only man to ever climb some of the world’s tallest mountains, including Everest with an ostomy and an inflammatory bowel disease.The team will be the second.Belton tells CityNews he came up with the idea after he was two to three years into his recovery from his 13th intestinal surgery and began hiking a trail in Cape Breton.&#...

(AP) — A Norfolk Southern train derailed in Alabama on Thursday, but company and local officials said there was no threat to the public.The Alabama accident came on the same day the company’s CEO testified before Congress about the impact of a hazardous materials train derailment in Ohio. The derailment in Calhoun County, Alabama involved about 37 train cars, though none were carrying hazardous materials, said Connor Spielmaker, a spokesman for Norfolk Southern. Two of the cars are considered “residue” cars because they previously contained hazardous materials but they were not compromised, he said. “They did not breach. There is no hazardous material leak. There is no risk at all to the public,” Spielmaker told reporters during a news conference. Suburban woman accused of leading police on 120 mph chase NAPERVILLE, Ill. — A 23-year-old woman has been charged after leading police on a high speed chase Tuesday.According to the DuPage County State's Attorney Office, an Illinois State Trooper pulled over Tianna Bryson, of Sleepy Hollow, just before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday after she was allegedly going 107 mph westbound on I-88 in Naperville.Tianna Bryson, 23, of Sleepy HollowWhen the trooper attempted to walk up to Bryson's vehicle, ISP said she fled the scene at a high-rate of speed.
