LUBBOCK, Texas -- University Medical Center in Lubbock is teaming up with military veteran-run company ZeroEyes for a new AI-based gun detection system, according to a press release.According to its website, ZeroEyes is "a human-verified proactive gun detection and situational awareness software that integrates into existing digital security cameras with a mission to stop mass shootings and gun-related violence." Organist Andrew Johnson will perform at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 28, at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi.Johnson will be performing pieces from Mendelssohn, one arranged by himself and will end the concert with the final from Symphonie V. Op. 47 by Louis Vierne who played the inaugural performance on the organ in 1927. The perfomance is free.Johnson is from Bloomington, Ind., and will be pursuing a Doctorate of Organ Performance and Literature at the University of Rochester in the fall. MEDORA, N.D. – A Minnesota woman was severely injured by a bison at Painted Canyon in Theodore Roosevelt National Park on Saturday, the National Park Service reported Tuesday. She was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Dickinson, N.D., and later to Fargo, where she was last reported to be in serious but stable condition.According to a news release from the Park Service, park staff were notified about 11 a.m. Saturday of the incident, which took place at the Painted Canyon Trailhead. Park rangers and Billings County Sheriff and Emergency Medical Services responded and treated the patient at the scene until she could be taken by ambulance to Dickinson for further medical care. The patient was then transported to a hospital in Fargo.The woman, who wasn’t named, sustained significant injuries to her abdomen and foot. HORICON, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Last week, New York State Forest Rangers responded to an emergency call on an Adirondack trail. On Tuesday, July 11, two rangers responded to a report of an injured hiker on Stevens Mountain.Rangers located a 53-year-old Cortlandt Manor man at around 11:22 a.m. The man had sustained a shoulder injury, which was treated. MOHAWK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has announced that one person has passed away following a two-car motor vehicle crash on Saturday morning. Rodney P. ST. LOUIS - A man wanted for questioning in the case of a deadly St. Louis gas station shooting is on the run and reportedly escaped from police custody Tuesday while handcuffed. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department says Jatavion Scott, 19, is a person of interest in the investigation. Police provided a photo of Scott in search for him. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, dark jeans with a tear on the right and no shoes. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Revenue has launched a new interactive map for people to determine sales rates by county, zip code or even street address. The resource is called the "Missouri Sales and Use Tax Lookup." It's a Google-based map that updates on tax rates based on certain boundaries around Missouri. From there, each municipality also imposes a tax from its county, some starting just above 1%. After that, municipalities designated as cities may enact their own taxes.
