Hours after Toucher & Rich’s social media accounts dropped host Fred Toucher’s name and left the accounts for only host Rich Shertenlieb, 98.5 The Sports Hub’s parent company announced that Toucher will be leading the morning show for years to come.In Beasley Media Group’s Wednesday evening announcement of a multiyear contract for Toucher, Shertenlieb’s name was not mentioned even once. (AP) — A man convicted of fatally shooting his wife and a bystander and injuring a third person at a southern Indiana gas station last year was sentenced to 240 years in prison Wednesday.A jury found Cherok Ameer Douglass, of New Albany, guilty in August of two counts of murder and one count each of attempted murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.Prosecutors said Douglass killed Brandee Kay Douglass, 38, and Lorin M. Yelle, 43, of Louisville, Kentucky, in April 2022. Police chased him to a nearby restaurant where he took the owner, Winnie Wen, as a hostage. She was injured falling from his vehicle.Investigators did not believe there was any connection between Yelle and Cherok or Brandee Douglass. BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A woman sentenced to life in an Idaho prison in the the murders of her two youngest children and another woman could soon be taken to Arizona to face similar charges. Lori Vallow Daybell was convicted in Idaho earlier this year of killing her two kids and conspiring to kill a woman she saw as a romantic rival. On Wednesday, an extradition warrant signed by Idaho Gov. CHICAGO -- A drunk driver reportedly struck and killed an Edgewater man who was riding his bike to work Monday morning.Don Heggeman, 59, of Edgewater, was killed riding his bike home from work around 8 p.m. on Monday. A St. Paul man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for fatally shooting a friend of his girlfriend on the city’s North End nearly three years ago.Glenn Lee Burton, 42, admitted to assaulting his girlfriend and then shooting 56-year-old Todd Anthony Gerleman in the face at point-blank range on Dec. 21, 2020. Gerleman, of South St. Paul, died at the scene.Ramsey County prosecutors charged Burton with second-degree intentional murder and attempted murder. An August plea agreement reduced charges to second-degree unintentional murder and second-degree assault. It also called for the 240-month sentence, which he received last week. Burton will receive credit for just over two years and 10 months he’s already served in custody.He was civilly committed as mentally ill and dangerous in April 2021 and found incompetent to stand trial.
